Large format reclaimed stone now forms the floor. Its surface records the passage of time. Limewash covers structural columns and overhead beams. These elements quietly deepen in character.
Untreated teak furniture grounds the space. Unlacquered brass accents introduce evolving finishes. A natural hemp rug provides texture underfoot. This design invites a deeper connection through evolving textures and tones.
This space visibly records the passage of time.
Design Philosophy
This design adheres to Wabi-Sabi principles. It celebrates the beauty of imperfection and natural aging. Organic Modernism guides the selection of raw, evolving materials. The space thus reveals quiet dignity that deepens with age.
Spatial Narrative
Your gaze follows the wide stone pavers across the floor. You move towards the substantial, low teak coffee table. The weathered saddle leather seating invites you to settle and observe.
Light Study
Morning sun enters from the east, casting sharp lines on the stone floor. As evening approaches, the light softens. It highlights the aged textures of the limewashed beams and brass sconces.
Living Vignette
Rain patters on the unlacquered brass planter, deepening its verdigris. Drops darken the raw teak surface, then evaporate, leaving subtle marks.
Material Palette
Reclaimed Stone Pavers: Their cool, uneven surface feels sturdy underfoot, visibly recording years of use.
Untreated Teak Wood: This dense wood silvers over time, developing a smooth, weathered texture.
Unlacquered Brass: It oxidizes naturally, acquiring a distinct green verdigris patina.
