This design aims to provoke a visceral, unsettling experience. It challenges conventional comfort directly. The space utilizes Sensory Extremes to create deep, individual reactions. Deliberate Discomfort guides the choice of contrasting materials and light.
Spatial Narrative
Your eye is drawn immediately to the textured dark acoustic wall. You walk past the cold steel counter toward the imposing basalt dining block. You sit on the angular, deep red banquette, aware of the stark light and deep shadows.
Light Study
Morning light slices through the expansive window, creating blinding highlights on the steel. Evening brings dramatic directional beams that cast long, sharp shadows from the basalt table. The room's discord is heightened by this stark play of light.
