A low-ceilinged, narrow vestibule introduces the bath. Dark, rough-textured stone clads the walls and ceiling. Subtle baseboard lighting guides the path forward.
Stepping into the main area brings dramatic openness. Polished, light-colored porcelain slabs line the floor and walls. Diffused overhead lighting and back-lit mirrors expand the visual space.
The room guides perception from constraint to freedom.
Design Philosophy
The design uses spatial sequencing to create a distinct journey. A compressed entry vestibule enhances the expansive feel of the main bath. Material contrast emphasizes this transition. Dark, matte surfaces in the entrance yield to light, reflective finishes in the central zone.
Spatial Narrative
The eye first meets a narrow, dark entry. You walk through this low-ceilinged passage. The space then opens into a wide, luminous bathing area.
Light Study
Morning light enters through the window, directly illuminating the polished porcelain surfaces. Evening brings broad, diffused overhead lighting, washing the main room in an even glow. Subtle linear LEDs define the vestibule's perimeter.
Living Vignette
Bare feet step onto the warm porcelain floor after a bath. The diffused light from above reflects in the still water of the tub.
Material Palette
Dark Basalt stone: It feels rough and cool to the touch. This stone retains its deep color and texture over time.
Polished Calacatta Gold porcelain: It feels smooth and cool underfoot. These slabs resist stains and maintain their sheen for decades.
White lacquer: It feels sleek and uniform. This finish maintains its crisp, bright appearance with simple cleaning.
