Living Room • 252 7th Ave Unit 10P, New York, NY 10001
The room becomes a personal archive, telling your story through collected items. A custom modular wall system holds cherished objects, each revealed by integrated lighting. This system layers your history onto the space itself. A multi-textured floor pathway guides your movement through the room. Seating reconfigures into intimate clusters, inviting conversation. Focused lighting highlights specific details, drawing attention to individual stories.
This room actively tells your personal history through its objects and design.
Design Philosophy
This design applies Autobiographical Layering, building a personal history into every surface. Functional Storytelling ensures objects serve as narrative points, not just decor. Each element works to create a living biography. The space actively recounts a personal journey.
Spatial Narrative
Your eye first moves to the integrated wall system, exploring displayed artifacts. The geometric rug then directs your path through the seating arrangement. You settle into varied height clusters, prepared for close discussion.
Light Study
Morning light streams through large windows, softly illuminating the room's broad strokes. Evening brings focused task lighting, revealing details of specific objects and conversations. Adjustable beams highlight different stories as needed.
Living Vignette
A hand reaches for a displayed travel memento within a lit niche. Two people lean forward on different height chairs, engrossed in shared memory.
