The entire ceiling is a programmable light source. It controls ambient light quality and color. This changes the room's entire atmosphere.
Shower walls are now a single translucent panel. Internal backlighting makes it glow. The vanity wall features heavily textured plaster. This surface sculpts light with dramatic shadows.
The room actively redefines itself with light.
Design Philosophy
This design explores Perceptual Flux. It makes light an active, questioning presence. Surfaces shift in view, challenging fixed perceptions. Luminal Sculpture uses light to define and redefine space. The room is a dynamic study in visual change.
Spatial Narrative
The eye first moves to the illuminated ceiling, a vast, changing light field. It then tracks along the floor-level strips, guiding movement through the room. This path leads to the glowing shower panel.
Light Study
Morning light starts cool and crisp, projecting sharp definition onto plaster textures. Evening light shifts to warm, enveloping hues, softening edges and creating deep pools of shadow. Dynamic patterns appear, changing every minute.
Living Vignette
A hand reaches for the faucet as the mirror's halo illuminates it from behind. Warm light reflects off the water, creating ripples of blue and gold.
Material Palette
Textured raw plaster: It feels rough and catches light in deep pockets. It ages with a unique patina, showing subtle wear over time.
Translucent resin panels: These feel smooth and cool. They diffuse light softly, maintaining their clarity for years.
Stretched translucent ceiling fabric: This material feels taut and smooth. It remains pristine, acting as a flawless screen for light.
