Dark, rough plaster covers the vanity wall. A sleeker, integrated vanity unit narrows this entry space. The opposite wall also uses the dark plaster, forming a defined passage. Concealed strip lighting creates a soft, intimate glow here.
Expansive light polished concrete panels line the bathing area walls. A larger, sculptural soaking tub anchors this open zone. Hidden linear lighting washes the walls from above, emphasizing height. Light-colored tiles span the floor, subtly guiding the eye forward.
Dark entry intensifies the bright bathing space.
Design Philosophy
This design employs Subtractive Form to carve out distinct experiences. A deliberate dark enclosure creates an intimate entry point. Sequential Reveal then dramatically unveils a spacious, light-filled bathing area. This contrast enhances the perception of openness and scale.
Spatial Narrative
Your eye first meets the dark, textured vanity wall. You walk through a defined passage, drawn towards the light. The journey culminates in an open bathing zone, centered around a large soaking tub.
Light Study
Morning light filters into the bright bathing zone, highlighting the expansive concrete surfaces. In the evening, soft, downward strip lighting defines the intimate vanity area. Hidden linear lights illuminate the bathing walls, creating an even, bright glow after dark.
Living Vignette
Stepping onto the sheepskin rug after a warm bath, the cool floor feels distant. Steam rises from the tub, blurring the clean lines of the concrete walls.
Material Palette
Dark textured plaster: This rough finish feels earthen and substantial, developing a subtle patina over time.
Light polished concrete panels: Smooth and cool to the touch, these panels maintain their crisp, clean appearance for years.
Pale oak accents: The wood offers a warm, subtle grain that mellows slightly with age.
