Ivor House, Brixton Bathroom — Fused Sense design direction

Seamless Bath: Sight, Sound, Touch

Bathroom • Ivor House, Brixton, London, UK
Existing tiles are replaced by continuous microcement. This finish covers walls, ceiling, and floor. Hidden audio transducers emit a low-frequency soundscape. Perimeter cove lighting washes surfaces without visible sources. A subtle botanical aroma fills the air. The vanity basin appears sculpted from the wall. The wall-mounted toilet blends into the continuous surface. A curved, frameless glass panel encloses the shower.
The room unifies all physical sensations.
Design Philosophy
This design focuses on multi-sensory experience. Seamless transitions create a singular room feel. Integrated elements remove visual breaks. Every surface contributes to an enveloping environment.
Spatial Narrative
The eye first follows the continuous microcement from floor to wall. Movement through the room feels fluid, without interruption. One stands at the integrated basin, experiencing the enveloping design.
Light Study
Morning light enters softly, diffusing across the matte grey surfaces. Evening light from the hidden coves casts a uniform, shadowless glow. The space remains consistently illuminated without harshness.
Living Vignette
The subtle botanical scent fills the space during a morning rinse. Low-frequency sound vibrates gently through the walls while shaving.
Material Palette
Microcement: This surface feels smooth and cool. It resists water and ages with a subtle patina. Curved Frameless Glass: This material feels transparent and clean. It maintains clarity over time. Matte Ceramic: This material feels smooth and dry. It resists stains and retains its finish.
