Design Philosophy
This design implements Material Evolution. Surfaces transform over time. Experiential Layering builds a personal history. Each material records daily life and interaction. The space constantly develops.
Spatial Narrative
The eye moves from the bright, light-filled windows across the refined kitchen island. It guides you to the warm dining table. You settle on the inviting leather bench.
Light Study
Morning light enters through large windows, revealing the limewash texture. It highlights the subtle sheen on the waxed wood table. Evening light softens, making the brass fixtures glow. It casts warm shadows across the room.
Living Vignette
A hand slides across the smooth, cool wood table. It leaves a faint, transient mark on the waxed surface.
Material Palette
Limewash paint: It creates a chalky, textured finish that subtly changes with light. Unlacquered brass: It feels solid and develops a deep, irregular darkening as it oxidizes. Solid waxed wood: Its smooth surface will deepen in color and collect a soft sheen from use. Saddle leather: It feels firm initially and softens, developing a rich, darker patina where it is touched.
