Design Philosophy
The design centers on immediate sensory engagement. It employs Sensory Immersion to surprise the body with shifts in texture, sound, and light. Tactile Architecture encourages exploration through varied surfaces. This approach creates heightened awareness of the environment.
Spatial Narrative
The eye first lands on the dramatic overhead pendant light. It then travels to the textured acoustic panel, drawing you towards the shower. You approach the warm river stone floor, engaging the feet.
Light Study
Morning light from the small window offers a soft, diffused glow. Dynamic task lighting activates specific zones for different activities. In the evening, the dramatic overhead pendant casts a warm, focused intensity.
Living Vignette
Stepping into the shower, the heated river stones press gently against your soles. A faint citrus scent diffuses from the vanity as water flows.
Material Palette
Polished waterproof plaster: Smooth, cool, reflects light, and maintains its finish with time.
Large-format terracotta porcelain: Matte and firm underfoot, this material resists wear and retains its earthy color.
Smooth river stones: Warm and rounded, these natural stones develop a subtle patina with continued use.
