The room separates active preparation from quiet bathing. An expansive wall-mounted trough basin defines the open entrance. Light plaster walls brighten this functional zone.
A constructed alcove creates a soft enclosure around the deep soaking tub. Dark Zellige tiles clad these inner walls, contrasting with the sheer fabric curtain. Dimmable lights offer intimate warmth inside this private space.

Design Philosophy
This design reorders the bathroom experience. It applies Prospect and Refuge by creating distinct zones. An open basin area offers a broad 'prospect' view. The curtained alcove provides a private 'refuge' for soaking. Synthesis is achieved by blending these opposing experiences within one cohesive space.
Spatial Narrative
Your eye first goes to the expansive, brightly lit trough basin. You walk past this open area toward the more enclosed space. A sheer curtain draws you into the deep soaking tub.
Light Study
Morning light fills the basin area, providing bright, clean illumination. As evening approaches, dimmable lights within the alcove cast a warm glow. This layered lighting provides task clarity where needed and soft ambience for soaking.
Living Vignette
After dressing, a hand reaches for a fresh towel from the open vanity shelf. Later, bathwater fills the deep tub, softening the room behind the closed sheer curtain.
Material Palette
Micro-cement: This seamless finish feels cool and smooth to the touch, developing a subtle patina over time.
Zellige tiles: Hand-cut ceramic surfaces offer slight imperfections and rich color variations, deepening with age.
Linen-blend fabric: The sheer weave provides diffused light and a soft texture, maintaining its integrity in a wet environment.
