Weller Street, Southwark Living Room — Filtered Horizons design direction

Filtered Views. Defined Comfort.

Layered window treatments control light and external views. A large, irregularly shaped rug defines the main social zone. Task lighting brightens the reading nook. Ambient floor-level lamps create intimacy in the open space.
This room balances open views with defined comfort.
Design Philosophy
This design uses Prospect and Refuge to offer both expansive views and secluded moments. Semi-permeable layering softens boundaries, allowing visual connection. It creates an experience where exposure and enclosure coexist. Each element concedes to the other's presence.
Spatial Narrative
Your eye first travels to the expansive windows. You walk towards the open-slat partition. Settle into the high-backed sofa or the quiet reading nook.
Light Study
Morning light streams through sheer blinds, diffusing across the main living area. Evening brings directed, warm light to the reading nook. Floor-level lamps create pockets of subdued light in the larger space.
Living Vignette
Sunlight filters through the wood slats, warming the desk surface. Pages turn quietly in the reading nook.
Material Palette
Raw Oak: Raw oak feels warm and develops a rich patina over time. Charcoal Fabric: Textured charcoal fabric offers soft tactility and resists wear. Heavy Linen: Heavy linen drapes block full light and provide complete enclosure.
