Seating features rough timber frames with soft chenille. The live-edge table offers an uneven, tactile surface.
The room delivers an overwhelming, full-sensory dining experience.
Design Philosophy
This design centers on Maximalist Sensory Engagement. Every surface, scent, and light shift demands attention. It creates a heightened awareness of the dining environment. The overall approach achieves a Theatrical Dining experience.
Spatial Narrative
The eye immediately catches the intricate, layered wall installation behind the dining table. Your path shifts from a deep wool rug to cool honed marble. You sit among varied textures, focused on the central table and its changing light.
Light Study
Morning light filters through large windows, mixing with programmed, cool white overheads. During the day, tunable lights mimic natural solar shifts, providing consistent brightness. Evening brings dramatic shifts, cycling through intense sunrise hues and warm sunset glows, independent of actual time.
Living Vignette
A hand slides over the rough timber table edge while reaching for a water glass. The scent shifts from earthy spice to fresh citrus as a new course arrives.
Material Palette
Layered acoustic felt, cork, and wool: These materials offer varied softness, rigidity, and warmth; they absorb sound and maintain distinct textures over time. Honed marble: Honed marble feels cool and smooth underfoot; it develops a subtle patina with use, showing gentle wear rather than high gloss. Live-edge timber: Live-edge timber presents a rough, natural edge and a slightly uneven surface; it deepens in color and character as it ages.
