Design Philosophy
This design employs **narrative design** to create distinct experiential zones. Each corner forms a new chapter in a personal story. **Layered storytelling** integrates personally significant objects and varied textures. Furniture placement and lighting define each space's unique function.
Spatial Narrative
Your eye first lands on the 'Archive Wall' display. You walk around the rug-defined zones, moving from collected items to seating. You settle in the Reflection Nook or join the Social Gathering area.
Light Study
Morning sun filters through sheer window treatments, casting soft, diffused light. Daylight brightens the Reflection Nook by the windows. Evening brings focused task light to the nook and warm ambient glow to the social area.
Living Vignette
A hand reaches for a book from a shelf. Footsteps soften on a wool rug as someone moves to an armchair.
Material Palette
Oatmeal linen: This textured fabric feels soft to the touch and gains character with use.
Dark stained wood: The deep tone offers stability and deepens with time, showing its grain.
Velvet: Velvet offers a plush, smooth surface that catches light and softens over years.
