A large custom-woven linen canopy suspends low over the dining table. It defines an intimate dining area. Tall freestanding fabric panels separate kitchen, dining, and study zones. These panels provide visual division without solid walls.
A main wall is upholstered in textured acoustic fabric. This adds a soft, sound-dampening surface. Perimeter LED strips replace direct lighting. They cast a diffused glow through the textile canopy. Woven art pieces reinterpret the book collection.
Fabric forms new boundaries and diffuses light.
Design Philosophy
This design redefines the open-plan space using textiles. It creates "Soft Boundaries" with a custom canopy and fabric panels. These elements shape distinct functional zones. Integrated LED lighting produces a "Diffused Light" experience.
Spatial Narrative
Your eye first moves to the large textile canopy over the dining table. Fabric panels guide you through the defined kitchen, dining, and study zones. You settle in the intimate dining area, softened by the upholstered wall and canopy.
Light Study
Morning light from the skylight filters through the textile canopy, creating a soft overhead glow. In the evening, integrated LED strips illuminate the canopy from within. This casts a warm, diffused light downwards, eliminating harsh shadows.
Living Vignette
A hand brushes the textured fabric panel while moving between zones. Dinner plates clink softly beneath the illuminated textile canopy.
Material Palette
Undyed natural linen: It feels raw and organic. It softens over time.
Heavy linen-blend fabric: It feels structured and textured. It improves room acoustics.
Tightly woven jute rug: It feels coarse and grounding. It gains a natural sheen with wear.
