Living Room • 1967 Green St, San Francisco, CA 94123
A U-shaped seating area invites varied touch. Plush shearling, smooth velvet, and coarse linen offer distinct sensations. Hidden speakers play subtle soundscapes. Distant rain or rustling leaves fill the air.
A heated floor section provides thermal contrast. Cool granite meets warm teak underfoot. Diffusers release alternating natural scents. Walls combine acoustic felt with rough oak and polished brass inlays. Windows use linen sheers and wool drapes.
This room directly engages every sense.
Design Philosophy
This design creates Haptic Landscapes. Varied textures invite direct physical interaction. Olfactory Journeys unfold through cycling natural scents. The space engages beyond sight for a deep, personal experience.
Spatial Narrative
Your eye first lands on the deep, U-shaped sectional. You walk barefoot across the contrasting floor textures near the window. Finally, you settle into the soft, central wool rug.
Light Study
Morning light diffuses softly through sheer linen, brightening the room evenly. In the evening, heavy wool drapes block exterior light and reduce echo. This creates a focused, intimate glow.
Living Vignette
The subtle scent of cedarwood drifts as you run a hand over the rough-sawn oak wall. Your bare feet feel the cool granite then the warm teak by the window.
Material Palette
Shearling: Plush and shaggy, it offers deep warmth. It will soften slightly with use.
Honed Granite: Cool and smooth, it provides a firm surface. Its matte finish deepens over time.
Untreated Oak: Rough and textured, it feels raw. It will darken and develop a rich patina.
