Engage Senses, Deepen Experience

Dining Room • 1967 Green St, San Francisco, CA 94123
Deep charcoal wool panels replace the teal accent wall. A new dining table, solid cedar, emits a subtle scent. Dining chairs feature mixed upholstery textures. Layered pendant lighting focuses warmth on the table. Natural aromatics are incorporated throughout. The wool panels absorb sound and invite touch. Cedar wood releases a faint, earthy aroma. Chair textures offer varied haptic feedback. Focused lights direct attention to interaction. Beeswax candles and botanicals add quiet fragrance.
This room prompts deeper engagement with touch, sound, and scent.
Design Philosophy
This design employs Sensory Engagement to create deeper interaction. Materials are selected for their tactile, auditory, and olfactory qualities. Experiential Design shapes how the space is encountered. The room encourages personal discovery through varied sensory input.
Spatial Narrative
Your eye goes to the textured charcoal wool accent wall. You walk across the thick, hand-knotted rug to the cedar dining table. You sit on a chair, feeling the varied upholsteries.
Light Study
Morning light filters in gently through the French doors, illuminating the varied textures. In the evening, warm pendant lights cast focused pools of light onto the table surface. Recessed lighting provides a soft, ambient glow to the room's edges.
Living Vignette
A hand runs over the deeply textured wool panel, feeling its depth. The air carries a faint, sweet aroma of beeswax and dried lavender.
Material Palette
Charcoal Wool Panels: This deep grey wool feels soft to the touch and softens sound over time. Cedar Dining Table: Solid cedar wood has a warm, smooth grain and releases a subtle, natural scent as it ages. Moss Green Velvet: The velvet upholstery feels plush and develops a rich patina with use.
