1967 Green St Living Room — Light Amplified design direction

Light Reveals Room's Living Texture

Living Room • 1967 Green St, San Francisco, CA 94123
Integrated LED cove lighting washes the ceiling perimeter with soft ambient light. Adjustable track spotlights precisely sculpt architectural details and art. Concealed LED strips backlight bay window frames, making them radiate. A micro-cement finish on the sofa wall diffuses uplighting and downlighting. Polished concrete flooring reflects and amplifies ambient light. Light, textural fabrics like linen blends on furniture absorb and reflect light softly. Strategically placed mirrors redistribute natural light. This setup creates a dynamic visual experience throughout the room.
This room makes the act of seeing an active and dynamic experience.
Design Philosophy
The design treats light as a primary architectural material. It orchestrates illumination to achieve Perceptual Flux, making details shift and evolve. Architectural Illumination directs focus, defining form and texture. This precise control creates a dynamic visual experience.
Spatial Narrative
Your eye first lands on the backlit bay window, drawing you into the room. You walk across the light-reflective polished concrete, toward the micro-cement accent wall. The seating area offers a central point to observe the dynamic play of light on all surfaces.
Light Study
Morning light filters softly through the translucent voile curtains, highlighting the polished concrete's reflection. As evening arrives, integrated LED cove lighting provides a uniform ceiling wash. Adjustable track spotlights then sculpt specific textures, creating sharp contrasts and focused glow.
Living Vignette
A hand traces the smooth, cool surface of the micro-cement wall. The subtle shift of track lighting reveals a new detail in the artwork nearby.
