Design Philosophy
This design builds a living archive. It uses the Layered Histories framework to create depth. Personal Archaeology guides the display of unique objects. Each item becomes a narrative point within the room.
Spatial Narrative
Your eye first settles on the gallery wall of personal artifacts. You walk towards a display vitrine, examining a cherished object. Then you settle into a deep armchair, enveloped by the rich textures.
Light Study
Morning light filters softly through the heavy velvet drapes from the east. It casts warm, diffused illumination across collected objects. Evening brings focused lamplight, highlighting specific textures and artifacts.
Living Vignette
A hand reaches for a worn leather-bound book from a custom-built shelf. The sound of a key turning in a lock from the entryway signals arrival.
Material Palette
Heavy velvet drapes: Its deep pile absorbs light, gaining character with age.
Deep stained wood floors: This solid surface shows a rich patina with use.
Patinaed bronze accents: It develops a protective, muted green layer over time.
