Sensory Flow For Focused Comfort

Office • 2070 Bush St, San Francisco, CA 94115
Acoustic wall panels quiet external noise. Heavy wool drapery controls light and absorbs sound. Tunable LED fixtures adjust room brightness and color temperature. Programmable diffusers introduce subtle scents. A new split-surface desk offers varied tactile experiences. One side is rough-hewn wood, the other is cool, polished stone. A thick wool rug provides soft ground underfoot. Natural linen covers the reading chair.
This room controls sensory input to support focus and relaxation.
Design Philosophy
This design integrates the Layered Perception framework. It builds varied sensory inputs throughout the room. The Dynamic Comfort framework ensures the space both stimulates and soothes. Occupants experience distinct tactile, auditory, and visual shifts.
Spatial Narrative
Your eye first lands on the dark wood built-in shelving, framing the room. You walk towards the large window, drawn by the natural light. You then settle into the reading chair, beside the split-surface desk.
Light Study
Morning sun streams directly through the large window, casting warm light across the hardwood floor. In the evening, tunable LED fixtures allow precise control. Users adjust light from bright, cool white to soft, warm amber.
Living Vignette
A hand traces the cool stone desk surface. The aroma of cedar wood fills the air as a deep breath is taken.
Material Palette
Wool felt: This dense material softens sound and feels warm to the touch, gaining character with age. Oiled reclaimed wood: It feels rough and warm, developing a richer patina as it is used over time. Basalt or slate stone: This polished stone surface is cool and smooth, maintaining its elegant finish through wear.
