Zones Emerge. Activities Connect.

Study • 2196 Jackson St, San Francisco, CA 94115
Low fluted glass screens define new micro-zones. High-backed lounge chairs create intimate reading spots. A modular shelving unit offers a window-side seat for long engagement. These changes provide focused points of activity. Textured fabric panels soften room acoustics. Dedicated task lighting highlights each zone's purpose. The reconfigured sectional anchors a larger central gathering point. This design allows varied engagement within a unified space.
This room provides distinct spaces for varied engagement.
Design Philosophy
Zoned Living creates distinct pockets of activity. Layered Privacy uses semi-transparent screens for subtle separation. This framework maintains overall room flow. Multiple inviting points of focus serve different experiences.
Spatial Narrative
Your eye moves from the central gathering area to defined window zones. You walk towards the lounge chair by the far window. You settle into the modular box seat, overlooking the view.
Light Study
Morning light streams through large windows, filling the room with natural brightness. This creates a fresh, open atmosphere. Evening hours bring targeted floor lamps to life. They cast warm, focused light for individual activities.
Living Vignette
A cup of coffee sits on a side table. Someone reads quietly in a high-backed chair.
Material Palette
