The fireplace mirror is now an oversized antiqued glass panel. This panel appears gracefully aged. A dramatically large, sculptural floor lamp with a distressed finish was introduced. The sofa was swapped for an angular lounge in deeply patinated leather. A much smaller, fragile-looking pedestal table replaced the side console. Ottomans were substituted with a single, elongated bench in subtly faded velvet.
These materials define the space. Antiqued glass, patinated leather, distressed bronze, and faded velvet show beauty in their age. A hand-knotted wool rug in faded colors anchors the seating. Existing parquet floor wear adds to the room's narrative.
The room reveals lasting beauty within weathered forms.
Design Philosophy
The room design reveals lasting beauty in natural decay. Forms hint at past grandeur, gracefully yielding to time. Deconstructive Elegance guides material choices and deliberate contrasts. Weathered Modernism shapes finishes, showcasing age against existing structure.
Spatial Narrative

Light Study
Morning light illuminates the antiqued glass panel, revealing its subtle imperfections. Evening light from the sculptural floor lamp casts long shadows. These shadows accentuate weathered surfaces and deep textures.
Living Vignette
A hand slides across the smooth, cool surface of the deeply patinated leather lounge. The sound of a page turning is absorbed by the dense, faded rug.
