Design Philosophy
This design embraces 'Rebellious Harmony' by recontextualizing traditional elements. A grand dining table sheds its intended use, becoming a display surface. The ornate fireplace is stripped of detail, appearing as a raw, brutalist block. This approach applies 'Functional Ambiguity,' challenging a room's expected hierarchy.
Spatial Narrative
The eye immediately registers the grand dining table, now a sculptural focal point. You walk around its perimeter, drawn to the details on its surface. The oversized, colorful blocks invite you to sit or move through the entrance.
Light Study
Morning light enters broadly, illuminating the geometric wood floor and wainscoting. In the evening, industrial floodlights cast intense, focused beams across the coffered ceiling. This creates dramatic shadows and highlights, redefining the room's architecture.
