The existing parquet floor is bleached to a pale, almost white tone. Walls are coated in deeply textured, off-white limewash. The fireplace features a minimalist, highly textured plaster facade. This creates depth and interest through tactile and visual variations within a single, restrained tone.
Furniture uses varied off-white fabrics like bouclé, raw linen, and brushed cotton. Linear LED lighting highlights surface textures and creates subtle gradients. A deep-pile wool rug acts as a soft, textural island on the bleached floor.
This room creates richness through texture, not color.
Design Philosophy
This design uses Textural Monochromatics to build depth. Interest comes from variations within a single, pale tone. Subtle Sheen Play adds visual complexity to surfaces. Every element invites close observation and touch.
Spatial Narrative
Your eye first settles on the sculptural, textured fireplace. You walk across the pale, patterned oak floor. You settle into the deep bouclé sofa, surrounded by varied soft textures.
Light Study
Morning sunlight grazes the limewash walls, highlighting their deep texture. Integrated linear LEDs cast long, soft shadows in the evening, defining material depth. This creates subtle, monochromatic light gradients throughout the space.
Living Vignette
A hand traces the cool, rough surface of the limewash wall. Bare feet sink into the deep-pile wool rug.
Material Palette
Bleached Natural Oak: It feels smooth underfoot and lightens to an almost white tone over time.
Deeply Textured Limewash: It feels rough to the touch and softens slightly with wear, capturing light dynamically.
Deep-Pile Undyed Wool: It feels plush and soft to the bare foot, compacting slightly in high-traffic areas.
