Limewash covers all walls, creating a soft, textural finish that deepens with light. Unlacquered brass fixtures and hardware develop a rich, unique patina over time. Saddle leather banquette seating softens and darkens with consistent use. These elements combine to honor the natural evolution of materials.
Reclaimed oak forms a custom dining table; its top embraces wear. Sealed concrete flooring integrates into the kitchen, allowing daily abrasions to become intentional features. A jute and wool flatweave rug grounds the living area, its fibers softening with age. This space grows richer with every passing moment.
This room grows more authentic with every passing year.
Design Philosophy
This space marries the principles of Wabi-Sabi with Industrial Chic. Wabi-Sabi values natural imperfections and the beauty of aging. Industrial Chic introduces robust, honest materials. Together, they create an environment where wear and time are celebrated.
Spatial Narrative
Your eye first moves to the large marble island that anchors the open-concept space. Hardwood floors guide you towards the dining area with its custom oak table. From here, bifold doors reveal the lush outdoor patio, blurring the lines between inside and out.
Light Study
Morning light pours in through the expansive bifold doors, casting crisp shadows and highlighting the limewash textures. In the evening, the light softens, warming the room and bringing out the rich patinas of the brass and leather.
Living Vignette
Sunlight catches the developing sheen on the saddle leather banquette. Someone slides a chair closer to the reclaimed oak dining table.
