Design Philosophy
This design actively disorients perception. It applies the Sensory Disruption framework directly. Familiar experiences become intentionally unfamiliar. Tactile Anomaly introduces unexpected physical sensations through varied materials and surfaces.
Spatial Narrative
Your eye first goes to the massive, irregular cork panel. You step onto the multi-textured rug, feeling its unevenness. You then sit in a jute-upholstered chair at the table.
Light Study
Morning sun enters through bi-fold doors, creating sharp lines and highlighting textures. Green-tinted LED pendants offer unusual evening illumination. Shadows are distinct, colors shift under the cool, artificial glow.
Living Vignette
A hand rests on the dining surface, suddenly noticing an unexpected warm section. A foot shifts across the rug, encountering an abrupt change from flatweave to deep shag.
Material Palette
Raw, unpolished cork: It feels rough and porous, softening slightly over time as it's touched.
Untreated jute fabric: It feels coarse and fibrous, retaining its distinct earthy odor.
Industrial black metal: It feels cool and solid, developing a subtle, matte patina with age.
