Design Philosophy
This design uses Deconstructivism to break down expected forms and functions. Absurdist Proportions challenge traditional scale within the room. Elements are deliberately misaligned, forcing re-evaluation. The space confronts familiar dining experiences, inviting new interpretation.
Spatial Narrative
The eye is drawn immediately to the low-hanging industrial light, then to the massive concrete slab. You walk around the varied dining chairs, questioning each one's placement. The room prevents a settled gaze, keeping your attention in constant motion.
Light Study
Morning light streams through the bifold doors, highlighting the polished metal panel's abrupt edge. Afternoon sun casts sharp, elongated shadows from the oversized light fixture. Evening brings a focused, intense glow around the table, emphasizing the unusual seating arrangements.
Living Vignette
A guest leans awkwardly against the massive concrete console, trying to find a comfortable posture. The unusually low dining chair requires a deliberate, almost comical effort to sit.
