Design Philosophy
The design centers on the tactile experience, favoring materials with inherent character. Forms are kept simple and the color palette is restrained, letting the textures speak for themselves. Privacy and softness are prioritized, without sacrificing an element of understated elegance.
Spatial Narrative
The room is divided into two distinct zones: the bathing area and the vanity area. The placement of the tub encourages a flow into a separate room, perhaps for other bathroom functions. The sink is placed by the window, and a built-in mirror and small shelf is across from the door.
Light Study
Soft, diffused light filters through the sheer curtains, creating a gentle, all-encompassing glow. The texture of the wall panels creates subtle shadows that add depth and dimension. The light is almost painterly, softly hitting the sink and the bath.
Living Vignette
Stepping out of the warm water, you reach for a soft towel hung on the black fixture, its dark metal a sharp contrast to the light fabrics. The cool stone underfoot is grounding.
